Nothing Gold Can Stay

Robert Frost

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Thesis Underpinnings

The idea of myth conveyed through built form is important to me. The idea of ritual or ceremony instead of conventional programming is what has and will make architecture stand for thousands of years. Example Calatrava's Sundial bridge. An existing object of monumental scale (the sundial pier) adapted to be used for a function (a bridge). The use or significance of the pier may have been unknown, but it has been re-appropriated to make a half harpish suspension bridge. Speculate! Remember we experience the world through five senses.
